Desserts

As a girl who eats dessert every day, I have a LOT of favorites: some are healthy, nutrient-packed versions while others are decadent originals. They are all delightful ways to end a meal. If you have a sweet tooth, dessert can be included as an add-on to your in-home meal preparation services. Snacks can be included as an add-on as well.

Modifications can be made to all of the dishes below to meet your dietary requirements.

DESSERTS

Birthday Cake Truffles…Although Momofuku Milk Bar will soon be in Harvard Square, there’s no reason to wait for its arrival to enjoy the famous birthday cake truffles. Christina Tosi has shared the recipe and we’re all better off for it: vanilla rainbow cake mixed with vanilla infused milk, coated with white chocolate and rolled in rainbow cake crumbs.

Healthy Sea Salt Cookie Dough Cups…Creamy, cashew chocolate chip cookie dough covered in dark chocolate and sprinkled with a touch of sea salt. These decadent, sweet-and-salty bite-sized treats are the perfect ending to any meal! (Vegan, DF, GF, Paleo)

Signature Chocolate Chip Cookie…Because every kitchen should have a cookie jar! This chocolate chip cookie is based on the famed New York bakery Levain’s signature cookie. A crispy outside with a thick and gooey center. Every bite is packed with chocolate chips and chunks of walnuts (optional). Simple, yet divine.

Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Chickpea Blondies…Before you get frightened by the word “chickpea” on a dessert menu, hear me out: these healthy blondies are freaking amazing. Each bite is peanut butter chocolate chip cookie heaven. They’ve been approved by both my husband, who tried one in blissful ignorance of the chickpeas and asked for seconds, as well as my picky niece and nephew. (Vegan, DF, GF, Paleo)

Almond Butter Stuffed Chocolate Covered Dates…This dessert is here for you when you’re sweet tooth shows up, but you are not looking to eat any additional added sugar. Plump, medjool dates are stuffed with drippy, organic almond butter then covered in chocolate and sprinkled with sea-salt. (Vegan, DF, GF, Paleo, Whole 30)

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies…What is better than a peanut butter cup, you ask? A soft chocolate cookie wrapped around a peanut butter filling and baked into a peanut butter cup pillow.

Raw, Vegan Carrot Cake Bars with Cashew Cream Frosting…these raw, vegan carrot cake bars are tender, perfectly spiced, naturally sweetened and packed with all of the flavor of a traditional carrot cake with none of the junk. An excellent dessert to have on hand if you are trying to eat a healthier diet, but still like to indulge in dessert! (Vegan, DF, GF, Paleo)

Oreo Truffles…A milk chocolate truffle with an ooey-gooey, chocolatey, oreo center. I made these for my husband as a first Valentine gift. The rest is history.

The Best Vegan Brownies…soft, rich, fudgy, dangerously chocolatey, and usually gobbled up within minutes of coming out of the oven. (Vegan, DF)

KEY…GF: Gluten-free, DF: Dairy-free, SF: soy-free
